Christmas Giving: Blessing Bags

Tis the season of giving! 

Blessing bags are something my family has done for a few years now. I have one in my car at all times. It is essentially just a little bag of goodies you can give to someone in need.

Home at last! 

I love Lubbock but I also sure do love being home with my Momma and family

! Home cooked meals every night, a full pantry and the coziest family bed. Does your family do that or is it totally weird? My moms bed is the family bed. When we come home, that's where us kids go to talk and tell her about what's going on with us. Or if we're going to watch a movie as a family we'll typically do so in her big California king bed. I mean we use the living room too but there's something about the peacefulness in her room and it's just something we've always done.

Ahh! Fall semester of 2017 has been conquered!! I don't even know what to do with my time today. I am not use to having this much free time on my hands without any structure. Naturally, I open up my computer and get straight to work on my blog!

One Shirt Three Outfits | Packing Tips

I felt this post was perfect to publish right before everyone begins packing up their closets to head home for Christmas! I have a few rules I go by when packing. Whether it be packing to go on a trip, staying the night with someone or going home for the Holidays.  Hopefully this post can help you next time you're having to pack!

Rule #1 

Pack things that coordinate together.
 Outfit pieces that are in the same color scheme, prints that match and easy pieces to layer are some of the things I consider when packing. When I say "layer" you probably think Winter but this goes for Summer and Spring too! Shorts & a cover up are layering pieces!

I'm not going to lie the last week of school before getting to come home was hard. Between the test in college and having a pretty heavy case of home sickness, I was just ready to be home! Does anyone else get like that?

It's unfortunate I'm a broke college kid because if I wasn't, every single one of these things would have been purchased while making this Christmas Gift Guide for Her! When did this happen?

Y'all. I am kind of freaking out right now. 

I am TWENTY YEARS OLD. First time saying that and I'm so glad I could get that off my chest. This morning when my mom called to wish me a Happy Birthday she asked the question, just like every year, "Do you feel older?"

My answer for the first 19 years of my life: No?

My answer today: Yes. When did this happen? Once I turned 16 and got my drivers license I think that's when I quit acknowledging I was getting older. 

It's funny how life works. I remember being in fourth grade and my teacher had a few different former students that would come visit her every once in a while. Those girls looked to be around 20 and I just remember thinking "I can't wait to be that old." They were so beautiful, had keys in their hands, had the longest and prettiest hair and the cutest clothes and I just could not wait. And now I'm that old and I don't think I want to be this old anymore! 

Don't get me wrong, I love getting older. Growing up. Maturing. But it's simply mind blowing that a few years ago I was just a small fourth grader. 

The scary part? I hear it time only begins to go faster and faster the older you get. 

I'm not afraid of getting older, I'm not afraid of the world that I live in and I can't wait for the rest of my life to unfold right before my eyes. I have big things planned for this life of mine and know that the Lord does to.  I also know that everyday we have isn't promised and I don't take that lightly!
My nineteenth year was as beautiful as the rest of them and I can't wait for my twentieth!

Don't Be Dull

Gushing over this look. Girls don't get caught in the mid-november dull phase where all you wear is your black over sized sweater and black leggings. 

I'm writing this post because I want to inspire you to try new things and step out of your fashion comfort zone box but also because I tend to do this as well. I have this black sweater and these leg slimming & tummy tucking leggings so that's what I wear a lot. It's hard to stop wearing something that looks almost effortless every time you wear it. 

But today I'm changing it up in my bight sweater. How could you not love this sweater? It's so bright, it has a little glitter in it. In a sea of girls wearing all black. YOU WILL POP!

Everyday Sweaters

I love posting about specific things. If Fall Was A Sweater, The Trend You Have to Try, To The Girl Who Can't Keep Up with Much, just to name a few. 

But if you don't like fall sweaters, or trends and have an easy time keeping up with everything well, maybe you do need some Everyday sweater ideas ;)

Everyday sweaters for every day life. This sweater is from LOFT.com and is just a simple, easy, throw on and go, kind of sweater. Connor and I went out to eat last night and this is what I wore. You know how guys are or can be. Last minute planners, who expect you to be ready in five minutes. Not throwing shade at you guys, but when this happens sometimes girls, we just need a cute sweater to throw on and look like we've spent longer that 5 minutes getting ready. 

I know what you're thinking. 

What's wrong with my sweatpants and sweatshirt? Well nothing's wrong with it and I'm sure you look absolutely stunning in it, however the sweaters I've linked below are just as cozy as your sweatshirt! (and they might have a few less holes or stains, no judgement!)
