How To: Make a Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato at Home

This 90 degree weather at the end of September does not have me craving a pumpkin spice latte or any other warm fall/winter drink for that matter. It has me still sipping on my iced coffees and to be honest my feelings aren't hurt about it. I have a strong love for iced coffee but here's my dilemma.

It's not the calories or the sugar or any of those other things that I should probably be concerned with, it's the price tag. If I would have skipped my Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato Starbucks run before class 3 of the 4 days I had class this week I would have saved a total of $14.85. Now, that doesn't sound like a ton of money in a weeks time but what if I continue with this luxury 3 days a week for 6 weeks. In that amount of time I would have spent $90 on my tasty drink of choice. (kind of sick to my stomach after finding that out.)

So, I've figured out a way to still drink my tasty drink on occasion at the wonderful price tag of $2 instead of $4.95. And that's by making it at home with this recipe!

First, the recipe calls for 4oz of espresso but in the case of not having an actual espresso machine I just made do with what I had, which is a dark roast coffee (I use Green Mountain Dark Magic K-Cup pods) and my Keurig Coffee Maker.
While that's brewing- in a cup of your choice (I use this glass cup) pump 2 to 3 pumps of Starbucks Vanilla Syrup and then add ice to fill the cup 3/4 full.
Next, add 8oz of milk to fill the cup about 3/5 full. I use unsweetened almond milk but whatever you prefer will work perfectly. Then stir the milk and vanilla syrup together.
Last step, slowly pour your freshly brewed espresso or dark roasted coffee into the glass cup. Drizzle Caramel syrup over the top. It's as easy as that! Now you have yourself your very own Iced Caramel Macchiato at home!

What to add to your grocery list:

- 1/2 Cup Espresso (or dark roast coffee)
- 8oz Cold Milk
- 3 tsp Caramel Sauce
- 2 Pumps Starbucks Vanilla Syrup
- 16oz Glass Cup

I'm so happy to have found and to be able to share with you, a recipe for an Iced Caramel Macchiato that is just as good as the one they make as Starbucks AND save money at the same time. I hope you enjoyed today's post, be sure and let me know what you think in the comments section below!

Have a great week!
