Transition Cardigans

What screams Fall transition piece to you? For me it's a cardigan.

When Fall is in the air, I don't go anywhere without a cardigan with me even though 5 times out of 10 I don't wear it because I'm hot natured. However, I have learned the hard way to just bring one when many times my mom said "Did you get a jacket?" and I would say "No, I don't need one." Well truth is no I didn't need a jacket, but once we were at the football game or the dinner on a patio or anywhere else outside, the sun would go down, and wind would start to blow and that's when I would have given just about anything for a light cardigan to appear on my cold arms. Nothing kills a teenage ego quite like walking up to your mom and asking for the blanket she brought to the game because she knew you would get cold.

I'm about to be really honest with you and I feel like you're going to get it if you're anything like me or you're going to be like 'what the heck is she talking about?'

The main reason I loathe wearing jackets is because they're almost always ugly. Like why would I spend an hour creating a cute game day outfit or dinner outfit to then put a jacket over it when the sun goes down? Who knows if I'm going to be in a picture or want to take a cute snapchat with friends. The last thing I need is an ugly & bulky jacket ruining my photo. Right?

Well, that's why I almost always gravitate towards cardigans because they aren't ugly and bulky. I have three or four cardigans that I feel like everyone needs. They don't have to just be for warmth either you can wear them for style. One of my favorite fall outfits is a cardigan or sweater over a plaid flannel with jeans and booties or mules. What do y'all think about these heeled mules by the way? I'm loving them for fall!

I am also absolutely in love with the different lace tanks I'm seeing trending lately and think there are so many different ways to style them. First being simply wear it alone with shorts or jeans or a denim skirt. Secondly, with a cardigan like the look I've created. Or lastly, you can wear a lace tank like the one I'm wearing, under an off the shoulder sweater for a peak of lace detail. This black lace tank as seen in the pictures below is under $30 and can be found here. How pretty is the pink color this lace tank comes in and this one in rust also screams Fall.

If you're like me and hate jackets learn to love cardigans. They're your friend! I've linked a few of the cardigans I love in the 'shop my post' section below. You are in luck today, the exact one I'm wearing from Hazel and Olive was just restocked!! Here is a direct link if you click here and how cute is the back of this one under $30!
