VIEWS FROM THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

Views from the 87th floor of the empire state building! If you go to NYC you have to go to the Empire State building to see the (almost) birds eye view! It's pretty. It's also crazy to think about how heavy all of the buildings are, as far as your eyes can see. How is it possible that they don't just fall through the earth.

RODAN + FIELDS DIARY

For the longest time I have wanted to try Rodan + Fields skincare. Naturally when I thought of it, I thought of people with really good skin. A friend of a friends mom actually used it when I was in seventh grade and I remember always looking at her flawless skin, come to find out she was a R+F distributor. That is my first initial memory with R+F.

Flash forward to today: I've finally decided to take the plunge!

I took one or two pictures each week for eight weeks. Usually while sitting in my car with good lighting, right before class. Take a recap through my skin care diary, I'm going to share what my main goals are, as well as give you an insight on the regimen!

TARGET HALL || SHOPABLE POST

It is 9:30 on a Friday night and I am curled up on the couch watching Netflix. I had the most busy week and had a test in every single class this week- I'm glad it's over. I planned on hanging out with friends tonight but I have a case of 'change of the weather sickness.' My nose has ran all day long to the point of bleeding and I think I've sneezed roughly 176 times. Which brings me here.

Do you feel under the weather when the seasons are changing? I feel like I get the wrath with each season, while Connor NEVER gets sick. On a different note...

My roommate came home a second ago and was raving about how good Targets clothes and shoes are right now so I wanted to take a peak and might as well and show y'all.

Let's see what the rave is about.

Verdict: There are so many good finds! Almost all, if not all, of the clothes above are under $30!!! You can click on any of the items above to shop them :) Right not Target is having a bogo sale buy one get one 50% off!

A little retail therapy should make these cold symptoms better haha

Goodnight friends,

NATURAL DEODORANTS & WIRELESS BRAS

If there was a blog post that I could make every woman and girl read, it would be this one.

This topic is very important to me because it could possibly effect every person I know and love. Male and Female. It's Breast Cancer. The harsh truth is that most of us will probably get and die from cancer one day. It's almost inevitable, from the things that are put in our foods-pesticides, to the things we do and wear, bras with underwire & regular deodorant. On a lighter note I'm about to share with you two things that you can change in your daily routine to lower your risk of breast cancer!

KELLY WYNNE SISTAHOOD

This past weekend was one for the books! Some girlfriends and myself went to the Tech Game Tailgate, mingled with friends all while showing off this bag I'm wearing!

I've been chosen to be one of the 'sisters' for the Kelly Wynne #sistahoodofthetravelingclearbag! Have you ever heard of the Sisterhood of the Traveling pants? Where there are four best friends, and they have this special pair of pants that happens to fit them all, and they all go different places during the summer but share them equally? Same concept!

There is a Kelly Wynne ambassador at many different Universities within the US. Texas Tech's ambassador is the most lovely girl named Julia! This girl oversees each girl that is selected to represent the bag each week. The girl that is selected will get to carry the clear bag to that weeks home game. Post about the bag, and finally host a giveaway. The process repeats throughout the football season. One bag, many different girls. Here's where it turns gold- At the end of the season one of those girls from each university will be picked to KEEP the bag FOREVER! Such a fun concept, huh?
Anyways, I wanted to pop on here and share that with you! It was such a fun weekend and I'm so excited to be in the running to potentially win this game day bag!

Here's what's so cool about the bag ||
They're designed in Austin, TX
*i'll only say hook em horns if it'll guarantee me a win ;) *
They have genuine leather, so they meet "designer" labels
They meet stadium requirements that consist of
Dementions: 12" x 6" x 12."
Color: Clear
Lastly they are FAB-U-LOUS!

THE THINGS I DO BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS

I am so specific when it comes to back to school preparation and I always have been. Today I'm going to share with you the things I do to prepare for school and the reasons why I do these things. Take what you like, leave what you don't. You can never be over prepared in my opinion, so let's get prepping.

At the end of this post, I've provided a free printable, you can download and print it to use for yourself! Enjoy!

CLEAN
This might be a given but maybe it isn't.

If you don't clean before starting back to school you need to start. Like now.

I clean EVERYTHING. I'm talking ev-re-thing.

I start in my closet. It's typically the most out of control thing in my house. I go through and get rid of clothes I don't wear or haven't worn in a year. You know that shirt that you've never worn but you think one day you're going to wear it, so you just hang on to it? Why is it so hard to just get rid of? I try and get rid of as much as I can. Purge, really. I go through my closet, the drawers in my closet, jewelry boxes, etc.

For my room it's the same process.
Always start at the top and work your way to the bottom when you're cleaning. My mom taught me that. So I start with the ceiling fan, clean it, then take off my bed spread, sheets & pillow cases and start them in the washer. While they're washing I go through my night stand drawer, my night stand and end cleaning my bedroom by going through the things I've stashed under my bed since the last time I've cleaned like this.

Closet, Room, Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom. In that order. I always clean the bathroom last because it's the grossest. I don't want to soak in the toilet bowl juices while I clean the rest of my house. I mop the house, clean the bathroom and then finish by mopping my bathroom. Then I hop in the shower.

When you clean your bathroom don't forget to go through your makeup drawer, hair products and all of those other little things that build up under your sink.

After the house is clean I move on to other categories of my life.

My car & dog.

If you're like me there's 10-20 empty water bottles in the passenger floor board. & if you have a dog there's probably hair somewhere. So I vacuum out my car and then wash the outside. I only wash my car like 2 times a year so I get excited about it! haha I also do all my laundry, bathe sophia, wash all of her beds, bowls, and toys.

I'll link Sophia's dog stuff below:
Her bowl, dog shampoo, bed, food, comb, bandanas,

GROCERY SHOP & MEAL PREP
It is important to plan ahead. I always meal prep my first week back to school because I don't want to have to think about what I'm going to eat.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES & SCHEDULES
Go ahead an get some school supplies, notebooks, pens, paper, the things you know you'll for sure need. I typically get what I know I'll need and then I'll go back to the store and get the things I forgot/the additional things that were mentioned in class.

Print out your schedule. It may be a little "Old School." However, when your phone dies before you've finished your first day (you know how iPhone batteries can be) and you don't know where your next class is, your handy dandy printed schedule will have your back. I print out two or three. I know, excessive.  I have this fear of not being prepared. I stick one in my backpack, keep one in my car, and fold up one real little and stick it in my wallet. So extra, but I'm preparing for worst case scenario.

I also put my school schedule, work & all appointments in my phone calendar, with alerts.

I live by the reminder app as well. If you live by a planner, Target has a ton of cute ones right now, I could also spend hours in their school supplies section!

NIGHT BEFORE
The night before school starts again, there are a few things that put my mind to ease. First being, the things above being done. Second I go ahead and pack my backpack up with what I'll need that first day. I pick out my clothes, prep my breakfast, and go to bed at a decent time. Like, before midnight.

You might already do a few of these things or maybe you don't do any of them all. I want you to try to do at least a few of them. When everything in your house is done, your car is clean, dog bathed, and your completly prepped it's so hard to fail on your first day, week and for the semester. So, put your hair in a top knot, throw on your preppin' clothes & get it done!

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK WITH NOT ENOUGH TIME

Hello from Yosemite National Park, kind of.

I'm not still there but on the yearly #brayandkayetaketheus road trip this was one of our stops. Honestly it was so gorgeous but we underestimated how big this national park really was. That being said, we only got to see a glimpse of it but the glimpse was nonetheless beautiful. If Yosemite is on your bucket list, give yourself at least three days. It takes hours to drive all the way through it, much less sight seeing by foot.

Here are a few of the shots that were taken.

Enjoy, braylea

Bray & Kaye Take the US | California Coast

Welcome to my blog new and reoccuring visitors!

To all my friends that love to travel, you're going to love what I have in store for you today!
To my friends that are indifferent about traveling, hopefully that's about to change!

Keridan and I took a 2,000 mile road trip down the California coast this summer and today I'm sharing all about it.

A little background on the Road Trippers ||

Keridan and I met our 8th grade year in middle school when I moved to Woodward, OK. Her and I were best friends at an instant and have been in a long distance best-friendship since I moved from Woodward back to Graham my Freshman year of High School. One thing I've learned in life is that great friends are hard to find so when you do find them, hold on tight! Our senior year of high school we were talking about traveling one day on the phone, I've always been a traveler at heart.

We were talking about all the places we'd love to go. Spain, Italy, Bali and the list goes on. Though we have big traveling aspirations we came to the conclusion we should see the entire United States, before we venture on to other countries. That day we made it a goal to see the US before graduating college. We have 2-ish years to go!

Summer 2017 was our first Bray & Kaye Road Trip. If you missed it, you should definitely go back and see where all we went!

Our goal is to inspire other travelers like ourself to dust off your paper map (or apple map) and go see the world. And if you don't enjoy to travel I want you to be inspired by the end of these blog post to hop in the car and go somewhere! Don't let money discourage you. Money is temporary and traveling and the memories you make are priceless.

Flash forward to May 2018 ||

We traveled the California Coast this year and to say it was a dream would be an understatement.

It went a little something like this:

We started at my apartment in Lubbock, TX. Drove to Flagstaff, AZ ate dinner and spent the night. Woke up, drove, and ended the day in Sin City. From there we went to Yosemite National park and then slept in Sonora, CA. We stayed with my brother for two nights after that in Whitethorn, CA. Then started making our way down the coast to San Francisco, Carmel CA, stayed a few nights in LA, Arizona and then back to Lubbock. How's that for a road trip?

DAY 1: FLAGSTAFF, AZ
DAY 2: VEGAS & 7 MAGIC MOUNTAINS
DAY 3: YOSEMITE & SONORA
DAY 4: WHITETHROWN, CA
DAY 5: WHITETHORN, CA
DAY 6: SAN FRANCISCO
DAY 7: CARMEL, CA & LA
DAY 8: LOS ANGELES, CA
DAY 9: GILBERT, AZ
DAY 10: GILBERT, AZ
DAY 10: HOME

Below you can see our trail on the map.
Now that you have an idea of where all we went, go on and read the following blog post. Try not to get lost or siri is definitely going to re-route you, and take you a longer way. haha

I hope you have fun reading and if you have any feedback I would love to hear it!

SEVEN MAGIC MOUNTAINS, NEVADA

Seven Magic Mountains in Las Vegas Nevada

Weeks leading up to the trip I asked Keridan, "what are a few things you really want to do while on our trip?" This was one of them! I have to admit it was a perfect spot to snag a polaroid

The Seven Magic Mountains were so fun and only a short drive from down town Las Vegas. They are man made of course and were created as a monument that was only suppose to stay up for a year! When you need a break from the Las Vegas strip slot machines, run out and see the #sevenmagicmountains

xx, braylea

Address to Seven Magic Mountains Below:

S Las Vegas Blvd, Sloan, NV 89054

This is open to public & admission and parking is free.
