Sweet Southern Vogue Turns One
Happy Anniversary to my day ones

  1. If you want to do something JUST DO IT. The time is never going to be perfect and you will NEVER know until you try.
  2. Prayers work.
  3. It's not all rainbows and butterflies, it is taking pictures before dinner while your stomach basically eats itself. It's spending 2 hours shooting looks to find there's not a single picture salvageable. (from windblown hair to lipstick on a tooth, to an outfit that just doesn't look like it should.) It's sleepless nights, editing, editing and when think your done, just keep editing. Blogging is website crashes and heart breaks when you think you just posted your most popular blog post & the page views look about like the amount of money in my wallet.. it's not very much..
  4. I have strong characteristics. Website coding, isn't one of them.
  5. Having a talented boyfriend can make a world of difference. Since the very beginning Connor has been extremely supportive of me and my blog. I say it like that and in that order because that is how it is. He supports me in anything and everything I do. My blog is my hobby and and  my brand and for that he supports it. If it makes me happy, it makes him happy! (Quite the guy I'd say.)
  6. People stare. A lot. Is it not normal to see someone stand in their chair at a restaurant so they can get a good food picture? haha
  7. In order to get the things you want done, you have to step out of your comfort zone. Before blogging I had a box I liked to stay in and really loathed stepping out of it. But after creating Sweet Southern Vogue the longer it’s up and running the more out of my comfort zone I have to be, and to be honest I love it. I think it has helped me to grow as a women and within myself.
  8. Having a piece of the internet specifically for my life is extremely rewarding. Yes Facebook contains pictures and memories but there is nothing like being able to go to your own website at any given moment and relive a memory through all of the pictures and the exact feelings you were feeling throughout the post.
  9. To blog you have to be confident and be different. I am delayed posting this blog post because it's not your typical "ONE YEAR OF BLOGGING!!!" post with the over priced #1 foil balloon (this is what I'm referring to) and an expensive outfit just to tell y'all how appreciative I am of everyone who reads my blog and supports me. Sometimes it's hard to not compare yourself to other bloggers or people in general but I've learned I have to be myself and unique.
  10. Lastly blogging is the best thing I've ever done. It is rewarding, it is a brand of my very own and it is dedication. In the past year I have learned a lot about myself and everyone around me. I have also been wowed by the amount of support and love people have shown me through following my blog. If you've been following me since day one, I am so thankful for you sticking with me and helping me grow. If you're a new follower, I am just as appreciative for you. I hope you enjoy following me in this crazy journey called life!
I have been a little scatter-brained the past few weeks and most of that is because I've been on winter break. The longer I'm gone at college, the more I appreciate time spent with my family and being present. One of my resolutions for this year is being present more often. When you have a blog or social media of any type it can take over your life in a way. I am so guilty of being on my phone and missing everything that's happening around me. I want to be better about that.

Do something for me. If you have an iPhone follow these steps tonight before you go to bed.

1. Go to Settings
2. Battery
3. Scroll All The Way down.
4. Take A Look at your Usage Time. That is the amount of time you were using your phone.
5. You can then scroll up and see the amount of time
in each app. (Click the clock to the right of the words "Last 24 Hours"
6. How long did you spend on your phone today?
7. What could have you done with this time to better your life? Clean house? Bathe a dog? Workout?

When someone showed me this exact thing over the break I was not happy about the amount of time I spent on my phone when all that time could have been used for something more valuable than scrolling through feeds. You might think the same thing once you see your time!

Have a good rest of your week and thank your for following along with me and my Sweet Southern Vogue Journey! (:
